
30 years ago, in April 1995, Karsten Versick visited class 8b at Realschule Süd Bad Oeynhausen/Germany.
The journalist of the newspater “Mindener Tageblatt” reported on his trips to Africa, on which he had accompanied employees of the emergency aid organisation HELP, Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. (Help for Self-Help). He also impressively described his experiences in Rwanda shortly after the terrible genocide and showed photos from the village Ruli.


The pupils of this class 8b spontaneously decided to organize support for the pupils in Ruli.

That was the beginning of our Rwanda Project.
At that time, nobody had any idea what would be the result from this spontaneous, naïve idea…
