Christmas is the time for wish lists – can you imagine a wish list with a pencil, a cookie and a banana on it?
We actually received such a wish list from Rwanda.
For several years, we have been supporting the primary school in Ruli with their school lunch program so that all 1,000 pupils receive a warm meal at lunchtime. In addition to subsidies from the government, parents also have to make a small contribution to these school meals, which many families are unable to do financially – this is where we provide support. And for the last 3 years, we have provided a small surprise for Christmas, one year it was a toothbrush and toothpaste, last year it was a special little gift (cookies and an egg) for Christmas. This year, we received the aforementioned wish list from the headmaster and the teachers.
